Making the Temporary Last explores the possibility of long-term coexistence of residents and free-roaming chickens living in Binckhorst, The Hague, an area undergoing rapid redevelopment. Although the chickens have inhabited the area for many years, their future remains uncertain as the landscape continues to change. What began as curiosity about the chickens gradually expanded into an investigation of local waste, care, and ecological possibility that could be shaped within the area. Through long-term observation, composting experiments, and material research, chicken manure is reframed from waste into a resource. The project proposes The LOO-P, a mobile infrastructure that connects chickens, residents, and local waste materials through a small-scale circular cycle, transforming overlooked materials into opportunities for exchange and collective care.
